There is a strange beast hiding and lurking among the cube farms and houses of the world this week. It is a beast of the Triple-H. What is this beast, you ask? Ah – that is the question.
To find the beast, we must first arm ourselves with the proper weapons. Mainly – the weapon of proper language usage. We must define an “oxymoron”!
Which, according to Dictornary.com is “a figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect”.
Armed with knowledge we can tackle the Triple-H beast within our cube farms. For this beast is none other then the dreaded phase: [@more@]
Hmm… where’s the third “H”? It is the confused “hello” that follows the reading of such a sign.
Seriously – I can understand wishing someone a “Dreaded Halloween” or a “Scary Halloween”. But a “Happy Halloween”?! Doesn’t that go against everything Halloween stands for?
The entire Halloween concept is about death, disease, destruction, devastation, disasters, and other scary “D” words. The word “happy” should never, ever be associated with the word of “Halloween”.
Sigh.
Tis another case of the evil one taking what is wrong and making it “good”.
Ok, have a dreadful holloween but have a happy all saints day
*smile* LOL
